Among the many challenging tasks in the film industry is finding the right film location that can justify the lines and scenes from a movie's screenplay. People in the industry believe that this can make or break the whole production. Beaches and Parks

Los Angeles is a great mix of urban and rural. From its famous beaches, conservation parks, to buildings in downtown Los Angeles, location scouts find no trouble in selecting the right place to set the movie. Among the most commonly used are beaches, with its crashing blue waves, white sand, and an awesome crowd hanging by the shore.

The Leo Carillo State Beach, North of Santa Monica, is best known for its adventurous terrain which shows small sea caves and tide pools. There's also the El Matador Beach, which is famously known as a location for romantic movies, and Malibu which has been used for surfer-themed movies.

Parks are also used for filming locations. One of the commonly used parks in Los Angeles is Griffith Park which was featured in movies as "Yes Man" and the 1984 "Terminator". This vast 4,210 acres green park is best known for its landscape and terrain. Another park which has been used as a location for movies is The Central Garden at the Getty Center. The garden has been one of the favorite locations, located in downtown Los Angeles.

Architectural Masterpieces and Settings

Aside from the beauty of Los Angele's natural setting, the city is known for its various buildings and famous sites that are also used as filming locations. The LAX Theme Building, an architectural masterpiece, is often featured as a background to some movie scenes. The Bradbury Building has been featured in blockbuster films Lethal Weapon 4 (1998) and Blade Runner (1982). Another famous building used in various Hollywood films is the Biltmore Hotel, which was actually used as the fictional Sedgewick Hotel for the blockbuster movie "Ghostbusters". Beverly Hills Cop and The Wedding Crashers also shot some scenes in this hotel in.

Simple settings are also for movies. The Quality Café in downtown Los Angeles has been used multiple times. You may have probably recognized the dingy café from the movies (500) Days of Summer, Million Dollar Baby, Se7en, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Ghost World, Catch Me If You Can, and Gone in 6o Seconds.
